god is such a good designer

I love Lion's Head ... it tells  Capetonians what the weather is going to do, it provides us with a relatively easy climb to the top from where we have a 360 degree view of our spectacular city....... and it just looks so beautiful !

it is the first think i see when i wake up in the morning , i look at it for inspiration on my way back from my walk............ i think i am in LOVE with it :D

the french way

 As if it was not enough that she drove all her single girl friends to tears of jealousy and longing ,with the beauty of her wedding at the 12 Apostle Hotel in beautiful Cape Town, Madame Reynaud is now having another wedding in FRANCE ...

AND

her Prince is flying me there !

How awesome is that !!!
I get to spend some magical times in Marseilles with the French side of the family and  see the happy couple do it again :)

AND i also have some days in fabulous Paris, with no work commitments or stress about exhibitions, as i only ever go for exhibitions , this time it is ALL play !

Of course there is the pre Paris trying to loose 4567890 kilos and finding the right outfit stress, but that stress i can cope with.

functional becoming art

A friend of mine is an architect in India and his thing is staircases.

The staircase in the photo is in the studio of one of India's leading fashion designers. My friend Akshay designed this space . I love his use of raw concrete and smooth delicate star lights .
The floaty-ness of the stairs is really so beautiful.

It is amazing how, with talent and thinking outside the box such a functional item that is really not noticed normally , can be turned into a work of art.

beautiful lights

 i had these lights made for my white lounge by Jerry and Jessie, a young couple that lives in a township near Stellenbosch.
they use plastic bottles to cut the flowers and leaves out from, and i am so happy with how it looks !
it takes a normal globe .

i also designed hanging lights in the same style to hang from the ceiling. i cannot wait to see how it looks.

these standing lamps will wholesale for about R250.
i think it could also look cool a bit taller so that it can stand on the floor next to a chair.... kind of like a tall flower peeping over your shoulder when you read :D

they are a really fabulous couple, willing to try new things and work hard and i would LOVE for them to get  HUGE orders and make a LOT of money

reliving the past

how wonderful is the invention of the camera ! most of the time i hate it, as it is merciless in its honesty and shows all those bits i try and pretend does not belong to me..... but it is so amazing to look at a photograph and remember the occasion.
